Located in San Bernardino County’s picturesque High Desert area, Hesperia’s pleasant climate and beautiful scenery make it the perfect place to settle down and raise a family.
Although the town of Hesperia was founded in 1988, its roots date back to the mid-1800s. Hesperia was named after the Greek god of the west, Hesperus. Hesperia received its name in 1885 after the completion of the Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad depot in the area. Grape farming was the primary industry throughout the 19th century until affordable land drew investors and developers to the area during the mid-20th century.
Located 78 miles northeast of Los Angeles, residents enjoy easy access to U.S. Route 395, as well as Interstate I-15 and California State Highway 18. Hesperia is surrounded by the communities of Victorville, Wrightwood, Crestline, and Apple Valley.
