Historic Brookhaven where Buckhead meets Brookhaven and Sandy Springs you will find one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Metro Atlanta. It is also one of the cities most affluent areas with homes built around the historic Capital City Country Club. The neighborhood  is home to gorgeous historic estates and newly built manor homes that attract some of Atlanta’s most prestigious residents. Many of the original homes were designed by a number of well-known Atlanta architects of the pre-war period including Hal Hentz, Cyril B. Smith, W.N.W. Griffin, W. Montgomery Anderson, and Edwards and Goodwyne.

The neighborhood boundaries are well defined, and it stretches from Peachtree Dunwoody Road to the west, Windsor Parkway to the north, Mabry Drive to the east, and Peachtree Road to the south. Access to Atlanta’s major highways, the I-85, Georgia 400, and I-285 are just a few minutes away so it is easy to travel to midtown, downtown and the airport from Historic Brookhaven. The Marta commuter rail gold line serves the neighboring City of Brookhaven and is just next door providing an option for commuter travel.

In the 1900’s prominent Atlantans began building summer homes in Brookhaven around a Country Club property with a golf course and the development was called “Brookhaven Estates."  The Brookhaven Club was purchased by Atlanta’s Capital City Club in 1915 and the golf course was expanded from nine to 18 holes. Elegant homes sprung up around the golf course creating a beautiful golf club community.

In 1985, the Historic Preservation Section filed to have Brookhaven listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 1986, The National Park Service officially named the area the Brookhaven Historic District. Today, there are about 900 homes in Historic Brookhaven.

Beautiful tree lined streets with luxury homes all surrounding the rolling hills and manicured lawns of the golf course make residents feel as though they are living in a park. You will find residents and visitors alike strolling, running or biking around the park area as it has become a favorite outdoor fitness route. Historic Brookhaven is now one of the most prestigious and sought-after areas to live in Atlanta due to its natural beauty and because it is right next door to Atlanta’s best shopping at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square. There are a myriad of excellent dining options just minutes away as well.

Other reasons to fall in love with the community include proximity to the new trendy shopping, dining and entertainment spots that have developed in the Town of Brookhaven along Dresden Rd. and the Town Brookhaven development that has a CostCo, Publix, restaurants and a CineBistro Theatre. Other parks close by are Mayson, Brookhaven, Little Nancy Creek and Fernwood Park.

Choose Historic Brookhaven if you are looking for country club living, luxurious homes, excellent schools, and proximity to all things Atlanta, Brookhaven, and North Fulton County.
