Palm Coast, Florida
Florida’s east coast is a haven for snowbirds, retirees, investors, and vacationers. There are many wonderful seaside communities; however, few communities are as popular as Palm Coast. In the past 25 years, the population of this seaside city has gone up by more than 50,000. Snowbirds and retirees love Palm Coast’s pristine beaches, world-class golf, and stunning attractions.
Believe it or not, Palm Coast was completely uninhabited just 45 years ago. Before 1969, the area that is now Palm Coast was mostly trees and swamp. A major communications firm called ITT/Levitt purchased large tracts of land and started developing it in the early 1970s. In 1999, the City of Palm Coast was formally incorporated.
Palm Coast is located along the north part of Florida’s east coast, not far from the city of St. Augustine. Jacksonville, Florida’s largest city, is about an hour drive to the north. Daytona Beach, widely known as the “World’s Most Famous Beach,” is about 30 minutes to the south. Outdoorsy types love going to Matanzas State Forest, which is located just a few miles north of Palm Coast.
