Skip Brodhun,


Skip Brodhun is the Owner and Broker-In-Charge at Real Living At The Beach Real Estate. Skip brings over two decades of experience and passion for helping people realize their real estate dreams. Educated at John Hopkins University and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Skip aspires to provide customer-centric service to enable people to enjoy the process of finding their next home or getting the maximum value from their current asset.

As a member of The National Association of Realtors, South Carolina Association of Realtors and the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, Skip has contributed in many ways to the growth of the real estate industry in his local market. He has served on the Professional Standards Committee and the Grievance Committee of the local Board Of Realtors. His personal accomplishments in the industry include over 24 years of experience in single and multi-family residential property sales and leasing as well as commercial construction, property sales and leasing. Skip holds the Certified Buyers Representative (CBR) and the Certified Sellers Representative (CSR) designations.

You can also experience Skip’s passion for coaching and helping aspiring and experienced realtors realize their professional ambitions at the Real Estate Career Institute. As the Director of the Institute, Skip personally oversees the various classes including Pre-License and Post License classes, State & Federal Real Estate Law update classes and other required continuing education classes.

In his spare time, Skip enjoys reading, cooking, (especially when creating original recipes) and golf. He and his wife of 50 years Betty, also enjoy travel and spending time with their four grown children and five grandchildren.

Betty Lou Brodhun,


Betty Lou Brodhun shares ownership of Real Living At The Beach with her husband, Skip, and manages all the day to day activities of the front office. Betty’s formal education from American University, experience as International Contract Administrator at Spring Garden Institute and over a decade’s experience in real estate sales office management, contract management and property management have been instrumental in the success and growth of the business.

Betty also co-manages The Real Estate Career Institute. In this role Betty brings over two decades of experience as a classroom teacher and ensures that the various training sessions are tailored to the needs and career aspirations of the students of the Institute.

Betty is actively involved in the community while enjoying leisurely moments with her family of four children and five grandchildren. She is a Volunteer Troop Leader for Girl Scouts Of America and an active member of South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts, a group dedicated to sea turtle conservation. A voracious reader, Betty also indulges in collecting Disney pins as well as traveling with her husband, Skip, with whom she has shared a beautiful partnership of 50 years.

I am a native of Myrtle Beach and have actually lived and worked in the 29575 area code all of my life. I was the owner and operator of Surfside Cleaners for thirty years and from this experience I have learned the importance of customer service and performing a professional task at a high level. Changing my career from dry cleaning to real estate was actually my dream come true. Now I am doing something I love.
