A Zoo Lover's Dream
The Grant Park Neighborhood is home to Atlanta's fourth largest park, Grant Park. One of Atlanta's oldest and most important historic districts, Grant Park is listed on the NRHP, and contains some of the largest remaining areas of Victorian architecture in the City. In addition to its park, this neighborhood contains two of Atlanta's greatest attractions, Zoo Atlanta (one of the oldest in the country) and the Atlanta Cyclorama - a rotating museum showcasing the world's largest oil-based painting depicting the Battle of Atlanta. Located just southeast of downtown, this area is still relatively affordable, yet close to all the amenities of the greater City.
This neighborhood has a very active community organization and is home to some fantastic events, including the Grant Park Summer Shade festival celebrating music and art, and the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes. Of course, Grant Park itself is a 131-acre green space that includes a playground, walking trails, a pool, and breathtaking landscaping.
Some of Atlanta's best food boasts its home in Atlanta - be sure to try Six Feet Under (great seafood), Ria's Bluebird Cafe, Mi Barrio and Dakota Blue. Grant Park is certainly not wanting in retail - the Urban Gardner and Foxgloves & Ivy Floral Design Studio will tickle your green thumb, while the trendy shopper can find the hottest new designs at boutique NV-U.
It's a great time to call Grant Park home!
