Tips for selling your home
|
2) Consider hiring a staging expert. For a small fee, in relation to the eventual sale price, a professional stager can make key changes to how your home shows, and feels to a potential buyer. A stager can also give you tips on getting your home ready to show, including storing items away from sight, moving furniture, color schemes, decluttering, and more.
3) Interview more than one agent. This can give you a better perspective of the services that are available to home sellers, as well as a clearer idea of the quality of the agent you are choosing to work with.
4) Be proactive with your agent, and make sure they are doing what they said they would do.
5) Do your best to be unemotional about the process. Whether your home is pristine or outdated, clean or messy, your agent may need to give you tips on how to make the house more presentable. Please do not be offended if your agent points out a pet odor that needs attention, or an area of the home that needs attention. We are only trying to help you sell the home as quickly as possible, and for the most money.
6) Don't assume that a discount broker will save you money, after all, it is the bottom line that is most important! An excellent negotiator may sell your home for 1-3% more than a poor negotiator.
