The Open House – What to Know
There’s no substitute for seeing a home in person with an agent, whether you attend an “open house,” or view a home by appointment.
We've already checked homes against your preferences. The homes we show you by appointment are most likely to include the one you eventually buy.
But open houses can be fun and spontaneous. If you attend an open house without an Agent, be sure to sign the register with the listing agent that you are represented by someone else.
Otherwise, the state “threshold” rules of agent representation might prevent us from helping you buy that particular home.
To make the most of any viewing, take your time. Walk through each room slowly.
Keep your wants and needs in mind at all times. Bring your checklist of must-haves, and don’t-wants.
Don’t be distracted by the “wow” factor. If a home is out of your price range, it’s not the right home.
Be prepared to act quickly. Good well-priced homes sell quickly.
