One of my favorite Italian Winter dishes! PASTA CON FAGIOLI1 32oz. can of Hunts tomato sauce. 1/2 lb. Ditalini pasta 6 to 7 cloves of minced garlic. 5 tbsp. of olive oil. 2 cans of Cannelini beans 2 tablespoons of sugar 1/4 cup of chicken broth Salt & Pepper to taste Garlic powder, I like a lot--2-3 Tbsp. 5 leaves of fresh basil. Liquefy 1 can of cannelini beans in a blender or cuisanart. Brown garlic in apprx. 3-5 Tbsp. of olive oil. Add sauce, liquefied beans, canned whole canneli beans to mixture. Add sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil. Stir and cook to slightly boiling then turn down to low heat and simmer. Add 1/4 cup chicken broth to taste and continue to simmer covered until mixture is well blended, usually about an 1 1/2 hours. Cook ditalini al dente, drain and mix with part of sauce. Serve into bowls, top with parmesan cheese & more sauce, add chopped basil on top.. Serve with garlic bread and enjoy, comfort food!
