Earning a Real Estate License

 

The first professional requirement for a career in real estate is to earn a real estate license. A key component of this process involves passing a written exam. Although initial pre-real estate license training differs from state to state and is a prerequisite for entering real estate, ongoing training at all levels increases the ability for real estate agents to serve their customers, and to succeed in a real estate career. Sales Associate License Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have high school diploma or GED
  • Complete and pass the state approved 63 hour Sales Associate Pre-License course
  • Submit application to the Division of Real Estate with the appropriate fee
  • Pass the state exam
  • Exceptions to the above:
    • Attorneys with a current Florida Bar Card
    • 4 year Degree in Real Estate
