About East Lyme, CT
The town of East Lyme is located in eastern Connecticut on Long Island Sound. It was incorporated in 1839 on lands from Lyme and New London. Among the most notable features of East Lyme are the variety and extensive number of beaches along Long Island Sound and Niantic Bay. These beaches, along with taverns, inns, and cottages, have made the town a popular summer tourist attraction since the beginning of the century. The area also includes Rocky Neck State Park on the Sound and Nehantic State Forest in the hilly interior.
