First Time Homebuyers are for Real
I stumbled across a great article the other day making the point of how important first time homebuyers are to this market and industry. I found it interesting because it touches on several points about the "new" first time homebuyer. It stresses the importance of how important it is for Realtors to pay attention to this culturally diverse, female driven, at often times demanding group of people called Generation X and Y. If you are a Realtor and are apprehensive about accepting the change in demographics of our market I am here to warn you! This group is over 130 million strong and represent over 80% of the first time homebuyer market. Now is the time to start thinking like this group. Get a social networking account set up, start blogging, read updates at Realtor.org about buying and selling habits and last but certainly not least do not under any circumstance judge a book by its cover. Remember this is the group of young people that helped launch the grunge movement 15 years ago.
