How I Became a Realtor
| I started out at The Ohio State University aiming to graduate from the Fisher College of Business. The more classes I took, the more I started to realize that a business degree wasn’t for me. I couldn’t decide between specializing in marketing, finance, accounting, or any other department. Come January of 2006 I had my answer. It was my first leasing season showing apartments on the Ohio State main campus. On a normal shift, I would show as many as 4-6 groups of people any style of apartment from Studios to 6-bedrooms. Regular work shifts went quickly and I enjoyed meeting all the different people between students and their parents, finding ways to appeal to both groups. I knew then that I wanted a career that involved dealing with people on an every day basis where every situation, while similar in nature, would be different. This was my calling to explore real estate. I enrolled in the College of Human Ecology and Education shortly after and graduated with a degree in Family Resource Management. To acquire my degree, I had to take many courses involving short and long term financial management and understanding the economics surrounding families and consumers. My real estate courses in Principles and Practices and Law were through the Fisher College of Business, and after graduating from Ohio State I finished my Real Estate Finance and Appraisal courses at Hondros College. |
Personal
I grew up in Upstate NY, but I’ve lived in Ohio, specifically the Columbus area since 2000. The main reason behind moving was to be closer to family. My siblings, parents, and I live no further than twenty minutes apart from each other and since the move we’ve welcomed the additions of my three nephews and niece into the family.
