Washington is looking to expand on the $8000 first time homebuyer tax credit so people who don't qualify can be motivated to take part in the homebuying market. If someone already owns a home, doesn't that keep inventory the same? Isn't inventory the problem we have right now? Yes, it is, but with lower mortgage rates and the ability to upgrade or downsize your current housing situation, you're more likely to save money and use it to help the economy.
